Last week, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced that all tobacco products—including e-cigarettes, cigars, nicotine gels, hookah tobacco, and pipe tobacco—will soon be regulated just like regular cigarettes. These products will now be banned for anyone under age 18, their ingredients will be regulated, and their outer packaging must carry health warnings. While teens have been shunning cigarettes, e-cigarette and flavored tobacco use are way up among young people.
