He was a virtual junkie.
The 35-year-old cyber-creep arrested by the FBI for hacking dozens of celebrity phones and e-mail accounts claimed yesterday he couldn’t stop himself from prying into the private lives of Hollywood starlets like Scarlett Johansson, Jessica Alba and Christina Aguilera.
“It started as curiosity, and it turned to just being an addiction,” Christopher Chaney told CBS47/FOX30 Action News from his Jacksonville, Fla., home.
“I was almost relieved when they came and took the computer and told me they knew,” he said.
“These people don’t have privacy to begin with, and I was in that little sliver of privacy they do have,” Chaney went on.
He said he will plead guilty and believes the nude pictures that he stole were leaked to celebrity Web sites by another hacker who broke into his account.
He faces 121 years in prison if found guilty on all counts.
