ID theft reported

A woman from Missouri called Purcell Police reporting someone using her personal information for billing purposes at Purcell Municipal Hospital.

The woman was from Salem, Mo. She told Purcell Police Detective Scott Stephens she had reported identity theft to her local police department earlier in the year.

The suspect had identified herself at the Purcell Municipal Hospital Emergency Room as April Smith, giving a date of birth and a telephone number.

Stephens called the telephone number and made contact with another woman who did not know the suspect.

The total bill at the emergency room was $250, according to the police report.
