A man is in custody after a shooting outside the Austin Resource Center for the Homeless that left one person injured, police said.
About 1:24 p.m. two officers who were working near the intersection of Seventh and Neches streets heard shots fired and then saw a man running towards Eight Street. After chasing him on foot for about a block, officers arrested the man, police said.
One person received multiple gunshot wounds and was taken to University Medical Center Brackenridge with non-life threatening injuries, police said.
The identity of the suspect has not been released.
It’s unclear what caused the shooting, police said.
