An Owasco man will be imprisoned up to one to four years after he pleaded guilty on Tuesday to felony child pornography charges, the prosecutor in the case said today.

In Cayuga County Court, Ryan M.B. Tengi, 22, of 122 Eastwood Ave., admitted to possessing several child pornography films that he posted on the Internet, Assistant District Attorney Romolo Canzano said.

Tengi pleaded guilty to felony charges of promoting a sexual performance by a child and possessing a sexual performance by a child, according to Canzano.

“Our goal is to send the message that we’re going to be heavy-handed with (these crimes)….We’re going after these guys, we’re going to seek them out and we’re going to send them to prison,’’ Canzano said.

Tengi is to be sentenced on Jan. 18 and could be released in less than a year. He could have received up to two and one-third to seven years on the more serious charge of promoting a sexual performance by a child, Canzano said.

The Owasco man was indicted in May on seven child pornography charges after a state police task force that investigates Internet crimes against children began investigating Tengi, according to Canzano.

Tengi was arrested after police executed a search warrant and found the child pornography videos on his home computer, Canzano said.
