Top-ranked Ohio State, at least for a half, didn’t make things easy for the selection committee on Saturday night vs. Wisconsin.

Trailing by double digits at halftime of the Big Ten Championship Game, the same Buckeyes who have eviscerated the competition throughout the season showed up in the third quarter, erasing a deficit to stave off the upset-minded Badgers, 34-21.

With that, should Ohio State still be ranked No. 1 in Sunday’s final Playoff Top 25?

Well, LSU left quite a statement in its wake after blowing the doors off Georgia in the SEC Championship, 37-10. Behind four touchdown passes from Joe Burrow, the Tigers left no doubt during its 13th victory.

Tigers wideout Justin Jefferson hauled in the throw just beyond midfield in the third quarter and made defenders miss for a 71-yard gain. Three plays later, Burrow delivered his third scoring pass of the content, hooking up with Terrace Marshall Jr., on a 4-yarder that closed the book on the Bulldogs.

“It was all improvised,” Burrow said. “Justin ran a 6-yard hitch route and saw me scrambling and took off deep. We got a great feel for each other. I knew exactly where he was going to be when I got out of there.”

Here’s our projection for the selection committee’s final rankings release on Sunday afternoon:
