Taylor Harris, 26, was arrested for two counts of obscene communication and two counts of lewd and lascivious behavior.
Glades County Superintendent Kim Jordan confirmed Harris submitted a letter of resignation in June but did not give a reason why he was leaving.
Harris taught middle school science at West Glades School, according to the superintendent. He was originally hired in August 2016.
Superintendent Jordan released this statement:
“We really appreciate the sensitivity and professionalism displayed by the Lee County Sheriff’s Office and Glades County Sheriff’s Office. We’ve always had a productive relationship working with them in preserving a safe school environment for our students and staff.”
The Lee County Sheriff’s Office has not released any other details related to the case.
