Brookville, PA – A former teacher has been sentenced five to ten years in state prison on child pornography charges.
Although 47-year-old Michael Wonderling from Brookville had initially been facing 913 counts of posession of child pornography, 908 of those were dismissed as part of his plea deal.
He was sentenced for just five counts of the third-degree felony.
Wonderling had been arrested in April 2019 and taken into custody during the school day at Brockway Area School District, where he had worked as a math teacher. Although he was arrested at the school, officials say no students were involved.
Although he has been housed in the Jefferson County Jail, he’s being transferred to SCI Camp Hill and will get credit for the time he’s already served.
Wonderling is charged for viewing or downloading the child pornography on his home computer, beginning in November of 2018.
