In regard to the article titled “County Board of Health backs Brook Park effort to restrict teen tobacco sales, vaping,” I thoroughly support Brook Park’s effort to restrict teen tobacco sales. Vaping has caused several teens nationwide to become addicted to nicotine for unnecessary purposes.
For a product that was originally intended to wane individuals off of cigarettes, vaping products have opened up a world of opportunities for the youth to poison their bodies and their egos. In my opinion, many teens have taken up the practice of vaping in order to appear “cool” and “popular.”
In accordance with the article, many of these same teens would never have even entertained the idea of smoking without the precursor of vaping that has become so widely used. With Brook Park hopefully restricting the sale of tobacco and nicotine products to people under the age of 21 starting Oct. 17, many teens will potentially save themselves from the risks and dangers that vaping can cause.
I thoroughly hope that the new law will be enforced and the people that choose to not follow the new regulation will be punished.
