New Brunswick RCMP have arrested a 33-year-old in connection with a homicide at the Esgenoôpetitj First Nation.

Police say officers responded to a call on Micmac Road at approximately 10:15 a.m., on Tuesday, for reports that a man had been found unresponsive.

When the Mounties arrived they found a 34-year-old man from Esgenoôpetitj First Nation dead.

The man has since been identified as Christopher Dedam.

Police say their investigation has determined Dedam’s death was the result of a homicide.

On Wednesday, police say they arrested a 33-year-old woman from Esgenoôpetitj First Nation in relation to the homicide.

An autopsy is scheduled to determine Dedam’s exact cause of death.

Police say their investigation is ongoing and that the homicide is believed to be an isolated incident.
