A 58-year-old teacher was arrested after he allegedly gunned down his wife, daughter, and another man in Limpopo.
The incident happened on Monday at the family’s home in Bothashoek, Dithabaneng village, near Burgersfort.
Police spokesperson, Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo, said members of the community alerted officers to the incident at about 23:00.
“Upon arrival, they discovered three lifeless bodies of two females and a male with gunshot wounds. The suspect was later traced and arrested,” he said.

The women were identified as Themina Clara Morema, 42, and Nomasonto Morema, 24. The man’s identity is still unknown.
The teacher works at a primary school.
Mojapelo added:
The motive for the incident is unknown at this stage but domestic violence cannot be ruled out. Police have opened three [cases] of murder.
Provincial police commissioner, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, described the incident as “horrific and shocking”.
“We urge community members to seek help when they encounter domestic challenges and desist from resorting to extreme violence,” she added.
The teacher is expected to appear in the Praktiseer Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday.
