A teacher and a student are both in the hospital after a group of girls got into a fight at the Young Achievers pilot school in Boston, according to police.

Cops say officers were called to the Young Achievers Science And Math Pilot School at 20 Outlook Road in Mattapan at 3:28 p.m. Wednesday for reports of an assault.

When they got there, they found that a large group of girls had thrown down — and that a teacher was injured while trying to intervene.

The teacher and one of the students were both taken to local hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.

The police didn’t have any further information immediately available on the extent of the injuries or the details of how it went down.

Cops have not arrested anyone, and it remains an open investigation, according to the department.

No one from the pilot school immediately responded to a request for comment.

Schools in Boston have made headlines with assorted incidents of violence over the past year or two as authorities try to figure out the best course forward to make the learning environments safer. Last March, someone found a loaded gun in the Young Achievers school.
