Penn Township man charged in child porn case

A 30-year-old Penn Township man has been charged with sharing 21 child pornographic images on his computer, state Attorney General Katheen Kane said Thursday.

Brandon M. Batz of the first block of Shartlesville Road was arraigned Aug. 9 before Senior District Judge William N. Hall Jr. in Reading Central Court on charges of distributing and possessing child pornography on his computer.Batz remains free on $10,000 bail.

According to investigators:Agents with Kane’s office discovered Batz was using a website on his home computer to share images of child pornography.Subsequently, detectives with Berks County District Attorney John T. Adams’ office obtained a search warrant for Batz’s home and found several electronic devices containing images of suspected child pornography.
