Engineering, Community & Online (ECO) is looking for a great "Software Development Engineer" to join our team. We’re the group behind the "Fix it" button that delivers automated solutions to customers either at the point of failure or within support content. We’re also creating the tools and mechanisms to store and publish managed, unmanaged, and peer-created support content. Our overall team is about 40 people but we work in small agile feature teams.
Your initial responsibilities will be to research, recommend options, and implement the site design for a large scale web-enabled Knowledge Management environment to organize, display and share information documents and knowledge. We are looking for interest and experience with all stages of the product cycle. You must be proficient in designing and building (hands-on) integrated solutions that are highly secure, highly available and highly performing. You must be comfortable working with web designers, program managers, translators, and marketing system specialist to find optimal solutions for delivering high quality applications to the web.
You must have:
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, related technical discipline, or equivalent work experience
* 5+ years software design, development, and shipping experience with C/C++ , C#, or Java
* Working knowledge of Web Services and .NET technology stack
* Solid verbal and written communication skills
* Ability to work closely and collaborate independently across a feature team
* A passion for quality, for doing the right thing for the customer, the product, and the company
* Strong debugging, coding, and analytical problem solving skills
The following development skills are a plus:
* Web development technologies (ASP.NET, XML, XSLT, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX, IIS)
* Database-related application development work (MS SQL Server/TSQL)
* Windows Workflow Foundation (WWF)
* Windows Communication Foundation (WCF)
* Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF)
* Cloud Computing
* Component and unit testing
