According to the iPhone supply chain in Taiwan, we could see a massive number of Apple iPhone units shipped during the holiday quarter of 2015. The estimate is that Apple will ship 70 to 80 million units for the quarter that just started this month. Last year, with consumers excited by the larger screens available on the Apple iPhone 6 and Apple iPhone 6 Plus, fourth quarter sales (not shipments) reached a record 74.5 million units. The estimates are based on the orders Apple is placing with the supply chain for parts and components.
