Teddy Bears Hitch Motorcycle Rides For Child Abuse Victims

Nearly 1,000 bikers were expected to strap teddy bears to their Harleys to raise awareness for child abuse victims Sunday morning.

Children’s Advocacy Center of Collin County hosted its 23rd annual Teddy Bear Ride to raise money to help children who are victims of abuse and neglect. Kickstands went up at IKEA in Frisco, and the bears hitched rides down to the center’s Plano location, where food trucks, raffle drawings and giveaways were waiting.

More than 900 bikers participated in last year’s event, the organization said.

“We are so appreciative of our supporters and the many hundreds of participants who make this event possible and such an incredible visual reminder that child abuse has no place in Collin County,” said Lynne McLean, CEO of the Children’s Advocacy Center, according to a press release.
