A joint investigation by the Israeli police and the FBI resulted in the arrest of two Israelis for allegedly manipulating stock prices in the US, authorities announced on Tuesday. Israeli investigators were asked by US federal authorities to probe the suspects’ alleged involvement after information surfaced suggesting that a crime had been committed. The investigation was conducted in Israel by the cyber security department at LAHAV 433. Israeli authorities said that the arrests were made after a months-long undercover operation that was handled in coordination with the FBI. Investigators also raided the homes and offices of the suspects to gather evidence in the case. The US has requested that the two Israelis arrested in the case be extradited. The two suspects will appear before the Jerusalem Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, following a request by prosecutors to extend their remand. Source: The Jerusalem Post
