A Harry Potter Spoof, presented by St. Patrick High School Grade 12 drama class, today, 7 p.m. in the newly renovated Selkirk Auditorium, 621 S. Selkirk St. This original full length comedy will take you on a journey to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. This parody showcases most of Harry Potter’s main characters in a hilarious two-act performance. Tickets are $8 each and are on sale Mon.-Fri., 8 a.m.-3:30 p.m. in the main office at St. Patrick High School.
Mama Alfa’s and The Capitol Players, invite you to a fabulous night of unbelievable food and a cast of wacky characters in ‘The Butler Did It’ on Saturday. North of Superior Film Association (NOSFA) presents: The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Thurs., Jan. 20, 7 9:20 p.m. The first installment of Stieg Larsson’s popular millennium trilogy comes to vivid life as an emotionally wounded computer hacker and crusading journalist join forces to unearth ugly secrets about a wealthy Swedish family. • Open House, Sat., 2-4 p.m. See the new exhibits celebrating the accomplishments of inductees: Al Hackner, Greg Johnson, Jay Miron, David Walker, Fred Bragnalo and George Gwozdecky. Learn about the over 200 men and women and 45 teams that have been inducted into the Hall of Fame since 1982, and tour the various exhibits that have been created to celebrate our region’s rich and proud sports heritage. • Baseball history on display now: Keep the baseball fever alive by taking in an exhibit highlighting the region’s rich proud baseball history. View artifacts dating back to the beginning of the last century including a jersey trophy from one of the region’s earliest leagues. Learn about the contributions to the game by the women of Northwestern Ontario. Re-live the glory days of the 60s 70s when local teams dominated senior little league in Canada and teams such as the Port Arthur Giants Club 17 entertained fans on the local diamonds. Discover the history of our professional leagues and see ’Jack’ the mascot from the Whiskey Jacks. Learn about the history of some local stadiums ballparks and see an original Babe Ruth autographed baseball.
