A South Lebanon Township woman is accused of buying an SUV and using her employer’s credit card to pay for cell phone and Direct TV services, Cornwall police said. Mary Ruth Myers, 39, of the 200 block of Acorn Circle, was charged Tuesday for thefts while working as a personal assistant for Lynee Porter, who owned and operated the Cornwall Inn, 50 Burd Coleman Road, Cornwall police said. While Myers worked for Porter in 2013-14, she is accused of using Porter’s debit card and business accounts for the purchase of a 2008 GMC Acadia for $24,318.86, Verizon Wireless services of $3686.19, Direct TV services of $791.68 and money orders totaling $1502.97, police said. Myers is charged with theft by deception, identity theft and nine counts of access device fraud. The identity theft charge is a misdemeanor, while the other charges are felonies. The investigation began in October 2014 when Porter discovered discrepancies and unauthorized charges on her accounts, and the Lebanon County Detective Bureau assisted in the 17-month investigation. Myers was released on $10,000 unsecured bail after arraignment Tuesday at Central Booking. Source:http://www.pennlive.com/news/2016/04/woman_accused_of_stealing_30k.html
