 Powered by Max Banner Ads Kalamazoo Public Safety Chief Jeff Hadley delivered a Valentine’s Day blog to the community, saying they are bracing themselves to receive the recommendations of the President’s Task Force on 21st Century Policing, which is due to be delivered to the President in early March. Hadley says they are already working on many of the six core areas of focus the task force has prioritized. He says they are making headway on building trust, developing policy and oversight, community policing, training and others. He says one area they need work on is better use of social media and technology. FULL STATEMENT MADE BY CHEIF HADLEY On December 18, 2014, President Barack Obama signed an Executive Order establishing the Task Force on 21st Century Policing. The Task Force seeks to “identify best practices and make recommendations to the President on how policing practices can promote effective crime reduction while building public trust and examine, among other issues, how to foster strong, collaborative relationships between local law enforcement and the communities they protect”.
