WASHINGTON — On the day Crimeans voted in a submission in March on severance from Ukraine, programmers from a gathering calling itself the “Digital Berkut” pelted NATO sites with online annoyance assaults intended to thump the pages logged off. While not in fact refined, the Ddos, or “disavowal of administration” assaults, were sufficient to send a few sites – including a digital security site in Estonia – into haziness for a few hours.
